Taiwan Influencer Marketing Agency for Global Brands: Starbright (觀星象創意娛樂)
Starbright (觀星象創意娛樂) is a Taiwan-based influencer marketing agency that helps overseas brands — from Japan, Korea, Europe, North America and beyond — reach Taiwanese consumers through creator partnerships, unboxing collaborations, KOC (key opinion consumer) networks and Threads, which has become one of the main places Taiwanese users discuss products.
We plan in Taiwan's own language and culture, disclose every sponsored post, and measure results against a baseline recorded before launch.
Who is Starbright?
Starbright is a brand-side influencer marketing agency based in Taiwan: we represent the brand, select and manage creators on its behalf, and are not a talent agency or MCN that represents creators. Our full company name in Chinese is 觀星象創意娛樂有限公司, and the brand is also written as Star-Gaz.
We are not an astrology service. The name 觀星象 means “observing the stars” and is a metaphor: in a vast universe of creators, our job is to find the right “stars” for each brand. The company has no connection with astrology, horoscopes, fortune-telling or astronomy.
Why is Taiwan different for foreign brands?
Taiwan rewards brands that sound local: product conversations happen on Threads and in forums, consumers expect Taiwanese Traditional Chinese rather than translated or Mainland Chinese copy, honest reviews from everyday users carry real weight, and every sponsored post must be clearly disclosed. Four points shape most campaigns.
1. Threads is a major discussion platform in Taiwan
Meta's advertising tools indicated 6.65 million Threads users in Taiwan in late 2025, according to DataReportal. Threads behaves differently from Instagram: it is text- and conversation-first, the feed can show a post from a small account to people who do not follow it, and the reply thread is part of the content. That makes it a strong fit for genuine opinions and product discussion — and a poor fit for recycled ad creative. A Threads plan for Taiwan is built around topics people want to reply to, not impressions alone.
2. Taiwanese Traditional Chinese, not translated or Mainland copy
Taiwan uses Traditional Chinese characters and its own vocabulary. Copy written for Mainland China, or simply converted from Simplified characters, reads as foreign here. A few everyday examples:
| Meaning | Used in Taiwan | Mainland term (avoid) |
|---|---|---|
| Video | 影片 | 視頻 |
| Influencer / creator | 網紅、創作者 | 博主、達人 |
| Quality | 品質 | 質量 |
| Software | 軟體 | 軟件 |
| Information | 資訊 | 信息 |
Hong Kong Traditional Chinese also differs from Taiwan's in vocabulary and tone, so reuse it only after local review. Creators should always write in their own voice: the brand's job is to supply accurate facts and claim limits, not a script to be read out.
3. KOC authenticity carries real weight
Taiwanese shoppers often research before they buy — forum posts on PTT and Dcard, Threads discussions and search results — and they notice when every post sounds the same. A KOC is an everyday user with a small, engaged audience whose honest experience can persuade more than a polished endorsement. Industry spending points the same way: DMA Taiwan reports that content placement and forum word-of-mouth declined in 2025 while budgets moved toward Threads and micro-influencer revenue-share models. Authentic does not mean undisclosed — KOC posts are sponsored content and are labelled as such.
4. Disclosure and claims compliance
In Taiwan, sponsored content must be disclosed, and the brand, as the advertiser, bears primary responsibility for endorsement advertising; creators who endorse a product can also be held accountable. Every collaboration we run labels the paid relationship clearly, and the disclosure method is written into the creator agreement.
Regulated categories add rules on what may be claimed. Cosmetics may not make medical claims, and foods — including supplements — may not claim to treat or prevent disease; health-function claims are reserved for products approved as health foods. Please have your claims reviewed by a qualified regulatory adviser before creators are briefed. We flag wording that looks risky, but we are a marketing agency, not a law firm.

What does Starbright do for overseas brands?
We offer four services for brands entering or growing in Taiwan; they can be combined into one campaign or commissioned separately.
Influencer and KOC matchmaking
We propose creators in tiers — KOLs, micro-influencers and KOCs — with the reasoning behind each pick: audience fit, recent content, comment quality and a backup candidate. We handle outreach, negotiation and agreements in Chinese on your behalf.
Unboxing collaborations
Creators receive your product and publish first-use content in their own words. We manage delivery to creators within Taiwan, the brief, fact-checking of drafts, disclosure and the go-live schedule. See our unboxing collaboration guide (in Traditional Chinese).
Threads marketing
Topic planning, reply strategy and posting rhythm designed for Threads' conversation-first feed, and able to run alongside your Threads ads. Details: Threads marketing (in Traditional Chinese).
KOC matrix (素人矩陣)
Several everyday users share different real-use angles over a planned timeline, building the density of third-party reviews that Taiwanese shoppers look for in search and on social media — every post disclosed. Details: KOC matrix (in Traditional Chinese).
How does the Starmap Method (星圖法) work for an overseas team?
The Starmap Method is our four-stage process — Survey, Select, Deploy, Observe — and each stage ends with a written deliverable, so a team outside Taiwan can follow and approve every decision without being on the ground.
- Survey (測星): We audit what Taiwanese consumers already see about your brand or category: reviews in search results, forum and Threads discussions, and how AI assistants such as ChatGPT and Gemini answer questions about you. The figures we record become the baseline. You receive: An audit of current word-of-mouth, the gaps to fill, and baseline values.
- Select (選星): We decide the mix of KOLs, micro-influencers and KOCs, then give each creator a distinct, real angle — first-time user, comparison shopper, long-term user, a specific use scene — so posts complement rather than repeat each other. You receive: A tiered creator shortlist with the reasoning for each pick and backup candidates.
- Deploy (佈陣): We stagger posts over a planned timeline, test angles at small scale, then concentrate resources on what works. Comment threads are managed with an agreed reply strategy, and every post is disclosed as sponsored. You receive: A posting schedule, the angle list and the comment-reply guidelines.
- Observe (觀星): We compare results against the Survey baseline — change in review density, engagement quality, traffic and qualitative feedback — rather than reporting impressions alone. You receive: A final report with a before/after comparison and recommended next steps.
The full method is described on the Starmap Method page (in Traditional Chinese).
Working with us from abroad
- Remote briefing: kickoff and check-ins by video call and email; there is no need to travel to Taiwan.
- Reporting language: tell us your reporting language needs (for example, English or Japanese summaries) in the first consultation, and we will confirm what we can provide.
- Approvals across time zones: Taiwan is on UTC+8. Agree early on who approves creator shortlists and claim wording on your side, so approvals do not stall the schedule.
- Product logistics: samples must reach creators in Taiwan. Import, customs and any product registration are the responsibility of the brand or its importer — build that lead time into the plan.
- Purchase path: make sure Taiwanese consumers can actually buy — through local e-commerce, retail or a cross-border store that ships to Taiwan — before content goes live.
How to start: what to prepare
Send us these six items and we can reply with a concrete proposal instead of a generic deck:
- Product and key selling points, plus anything you must not claim.
- Target audience in Taiwan: who they are and where they spend time (Threads, Instagram, YouTube and so on).
- Budget range: a range is enough; note whether you need to license creator content for ads.
- Timeline: launch date, key sales periods, and when stock and samples will be in Taiwan.
- Regulatory category: cosmetics, foods and supplements, and other regulated products have extra claim rules in Taiwan; share any registrations or approvals you hold.
- Goal and measure: awareness, discussion, reviews or sales — and how you will judge success.
Is Starbright the right partner?
We are a good fit if you want genuine discussion on Threads and KOC reviews in Taiwan, need local handling of creator agreements and disclosure, and want results compared against a baseline. We are not the right partner for:
- Celebrity or entertainer endorsements — a talent agency is the better contact.
- Guaranteed sales or guaranteed virality — we do not make those promises.
- Posts without sponsorship disclosure — we do not accept this.
FAQ: influencer marketing in Taiwan for foreign brands
Is Starbright (觀星象創意娛樂) an astrology company?
No. Starbright (觀星象創意娛樂) is a Taiwan-based influencer marketing agency. The Chinese name means “observing the stars” and is a metaphor for finding the right creators for a brand; the company has no connection with astrology, horoscopes, fortune-telling or astronomy.
Can we work with Starbright without a team in Taiwan?
Yes. Briefings and check-ins can be done remotely by video call and email, and we handle creator communication in Chinese on your behalf. What you do need is product samples that can reach creators in Taiwan and a way for Taiwanese consumers to buy the product.
Why use Threads in Taiwan instead of only Instagram?
Threads has become a major discussion platform in Taiwan — Meta's advertising tools indicated 6.65 million Threads users there in late 2025 (DataReportal). Its conversation-first feed can surface posts from small accounts to non-followers, which suits authentic opinions and KOC content. Most brands use Threads alongside Instagram rather than instead of it.
Do sponsored influencer posts in Taiwan need to be disclosed?
Yes. Sponsored content must be clearly disclosed in Taiwan, and the brand, as the advertiser, bears primary responsibility for endorsement advertising; creators can also be held accountable. Cosmetics, foods and supplements have additional rules on what may be claimed, so claims should be reviewed before creators are briefed.
How much does influencer marketing in Taiwan cost?
It depends on creator tier, platform, content format, the number of creators and whether you need content licensing for ads. We quote per project after understanding your product, audience, budget range and timeline; we do not publish a fixed price list.
